Clean Skin Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2011
This is not just any old clean skin. As you may be aware by now we only sell wines that meet our lofty standards and this savvy blew those standards out of the water. It is delightfully crisp and refreshing with beautiful fruit flavours on display. An absolute must the next time you want to be bedazaled & cook a seafood feast!
A brilliant, clear, pale straw green colour is enticing from the get go. Typical Marlborough Sauvignon aromas of grapefruit, passionfruit and ripe gooseberry with a hint of stealy flint as backbone wrapped up with an intriguing mouth lingering & lovable complexity.
The palate is exactly what you would expect, with fresh aromatics, full of racy vigour. Flavours of passionfruit, gooseberry, melon and grapefruit are balanced by lime acidity and good fruit sweetness that rounds it out nicely. The palate is well structured and tapers to a very sessionable long, lingering finish. |

Chris Hill Adelaide Hills Reserve Nebbiolo 2006
Here's something that will rock your world & be a fabulous talking point at the next dinner party because it is a bit different!. A cracking Nebbiolo from the famous cool climate region - Adelaide Hills. (Nowhere near Snow Town)
You know you're in safe hand with our negociant Chris Hill Reserve ranges and this one is sure to keep everyone bubbling along and happy. The wine is typical for this variety and with 6 years maturity, (Yes 6 YEARS) this wine is now a luminescent light to medium red with a slight rusty orange rim.
The wonderful bouquet is an intense mix of varietal and aged characters. It has lifted floral aromas of violets and rose petal with wild herbs, truffle and tobacco hints following. Nebbiolo is a late ripening variety famed for its strong gripping tannin and firm acidity. With extended maturation this wine has developed distinctive “tar and roses” complexity as well as savoury flavours of smoked meats, leather and spice. It’s an intriguing wine with character and pedigree. That is why it is better cellared and stored for at least 3+ years before you get close to cracking a bottle. |

Olssen Watervale Riesling 2006
- strictly limited
Just about the safest hands in Australia when it comes to Riesling and this one has aged brilliantly. No kerosene here just plenty of layers and complexity to the flavour. There is seriously limited stock remaining so don't heistate or you will regret it. We have a huge following for quality Rielsings and this region& vintage to our way of thinking has no peer. All the work is complete , stored carefully, back release, pricing is absurd , all you need to do is decide how much.
"90 POINTS. Firm and powerful lime, mineral and spice flavours flow through to the finish." - James Halliday
The riesling grapes came from a block in their Watervale vineyard planted in the late 1970s. The 2006 Olssen Riesling is nicely balanced with a distinct lime-citrus character typical of the Watervale district in the Clare Valley. Tightly structured, delicate and fine, and with a hint of minerality in the background, the wine finishes long and dry.

Tortoiseshell Bay Shiraz Viognier 2010 - More just in
1 case of this is simply not enough and at this price it doesn't have to be. This is a cancelled Export meant for the UK! The financial woes affecting Europe is decidedly in your favour. Almost like Monopoly - "Collect $200 for NOT passing this magic wine deal up!
look very closely at these wines to ensure they live up to to our 100% money back quality with the team of professional tasters here at Wine Box and these two wines (there is a Pinot Grigio as well) stood out like Big Ben!
This 80% Shiraz is all fruit and dynamic , shirt front lifting, powerful aromas of dark spicy plum, blackberry and oak. The small component of Viognier lift aromatics & add some spice and velvet layers to the package. As the nose gets you immediately you are hoping for the next test to engage and deliver at the same level. That is where we see this little number take off with Virgins Atlantic travel department. Maori Bay Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2011
Beats the super big brands by a whopping $7- $15 dollars a bottle and should be the buy of the Year so far by a country mile! "An absolute ripper and at this price a bloomin steal" Tim Figdor
Brand New Vintage & exclusive to Wine Box Warehouse! An absolutely awesome, classic Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc! Vibrant passionfruit, sweet juicy pears, pineapple and honeydew nose, all sprinkled with a tingle of nettle and green pepper. And that’s just the aroma – on the palate these notes are amplified, tempered only by the ubiquitous citric notes that Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc has become famous for. It’s a young fresh wine and vibrates with zesty youth as a consequence. This is fantastic drinking right now, and has the legs to make it through to next Summer if you can find reason why it should.

Best of South Australia Reds
Here's a mixed dozen all the red drinkers out there have been waiting for. Some of South Australia's most delicious reds at price that'll send your jaw crashing into the earth
3 bottles of Punocks Estate Shiraz 2010, dripping with blood dark cherry and plum goodness, shepherded by spice and cinnamon, and rounded out by a subtle but firm tannin finish, this easy drinking South Australian (Think Barossa) Shiraz is a ripper of a wine and ticks all the boxes.
3 bottles of Chateau Hoffman Shiraz 2010, gorgeous mocha and cherry notes on the nose are precursors of what's to come: a tasty dark plum & fruit jam treat, held in check by some delectable earthy spice and cinnamon and well rounded out by a medium dry, stable finish with tannins that simply linger and are moorish.
3 of the Peter Lehmann Shiraz Grenache 2009. The colour is an attractive dark cherry. The nose has fresh plum fruits, spiciness, briar, & a hint of gaminess from the Grenache. A beautifully structured wine, it tastes of dark fruits with underlying hints of liquorice & savouriness, and soft tannins.
And, my personal favourite, 3 Peter Lehmann Grenache 2006. Bright medium red on the rim with a darker centre. A palate packed with fresh juicy raspberries, loads of lifted maraschino cherry notes on the nose, typical of fresh youthful Grenache. |
