Mixed White Dozen $79

St Hallett Gamekeepers Reserve Shiraz Grenache 2007

This is a great wine for dining, especially if roast duck is on the menu. It features a highly floral nose, with dark plum and berry fruits following. A splash of Touriga Nacional in the blend adds a spicy flavour to the berry flavours too; it is rounded out by a soft tannin earthiness, which is why it goes great with roasts. St Hallett is just about the safest hands in The Barossa in producing great regional wines that have excellent life, length and are loved all around the world.

This wine is a little beauty, delivering the hallmark Barossa richness and length you would expect, with some bright raspberry and spice at a price to make the rest of the world weep! This price is just an absolute steal for a wine that is more like Old World quality at last century's prices! So get in quick before she goes and grab a cellar full.

McPherson Basilisk Cabernet Merlot 2008

The Basilisk was the king of the serpents and this is the king of wines. While a Basilisk is said to be able to cause death with a single glance this wine can cause hysteria with a single sip, it's that good. I've been watching our stock of this wine diminish at an alarming rate due to it's popularity so do not delay and make sure you get enough to last because once its gone there aint no more.

This classic, full-bodied blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot exhibits a rich, intense nose full of cassis, blackberries with a hint of spicy oak and traditional Christmas fruitcake. With a boldly structured palate displaying flavours of black fruits such as blackcurrants and plums, the intense, velvety length of the wine seems endless. This is a truly elegant Cabernet Merlot with careful balance, remarkable complexity and enduring length that will only benefit from careful cellaring.

Ketu Bay Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2011

We have pulled off another massive deal to get hold of some excellent stocks of this brand new vintage and you are going to be amazed and fall in love with the sensational quality and price of this wine.

A brilliant, clear to pale straw-green colour is enticing from the get go. Typical Marlborough Sauvignon aromas of grapefruit, passionfruit and ripe gooseberry with a hint of steely flint as backbone, wrapped up with a lovably intriguing, mouth lingering complexity. The palate is prime Marlborough, with fresh aromatics full of racy vigor. Flavours of passionfruit, gooseberry, melon and grapefruit are balanced by lime acidity and good fruit sweetness that round it out nicely. The palate is well structured and tapers to a very sessionable long, lingering finish. For summer days, quelling the cacophony of noisy children or simply sharing a conversation with your partner, this is a classic Marlborough statement that will not fail to bring a smile to your lips.

The Principal Langhorne Creek Sangiovese 2008

No, it isn't the name of an Italian soccer player who scored the winning goal for Juventus last week it's an Italian grape variety and one that is growing in popularity at a rapid pace. Australian winemakers a really leading the world in successfully introducing all types of grape varieties to Australia vineyards and the result is some amazing wines. This is one of those.

This wine is a cracker. As we all know now any wine baring The Principal label is a guaranteed winner. This wine has the mild acidity you find in classic Italian Sangiovese's with a bit more of that classic Langhorne creek gusto supporting the wine. Some lovely light red berry flavours on the finish make this a complete package.

The Professor Heathcote Shiraz 2011

You know you are in for something special as the crimson/ruby liquid coats the inside of the glass and hangs for a second longer than normal. Big aromatics follow with distinctive leather, cassis, tobacco leaf, pepper and dusty earth. The Shiraz is rich and still restrained more on the European classic style depicting winemaking skills to be about balance. Is this the best value Heathcote Shiraz in Australia?
All intriguing begging to be drunk and shared with only your best mates.

The palate slowly opens with a full mouth feel, coating your mouth with fresh blackberries, liquorice, blueberries, light tannins and a slight hint of strawberry. The finish is velvety smooth with a layer of delicate tannin that creates a delectable desire for more of this superb wine.

A superbly structured and crafted wine that is as good on its own, as it is with a roast of lamb.

Maori Bay Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2011

Brand New Vintage & exclusive to Wine Box Warehouse! An absolutely awesome, classic Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc! Vibrant passionfruit, sweet juicy pears, pineapple and honeydew nose, all sprinkled with a tingle of nettle and green pepper. And that's just the aroma – on the palate these notes are amplified, tempered only by the ubiquitous citric notes that Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc has become famous for. It's a young fresh wine and vibrates with zesty youth as a consequence. This is fantastic drinking right now, and has the legs to make it through to next summer if you can find reason why it should.

Beats the super big brands by a whopping 7 dollars a bottle and should be the buy of the year so far by a country mile!

Named after..."Maori Bay in West Coast Auckland is an exposed beach break that has dependable surf and can work at any time of the year. The best wind direction is from the east with some shelter here from east winds. Tends to receive a mix of groundswells and windswells and the best swell direction is from the South West. The beach breaks offer lefts and rights. Best around mid tide when the tide is rising. Rarely crowded here. Take care of rips, rocks and sharks." - www.surf-forecast.com
