Here it is folks, from arguably Australias best Coonawarra Cabernet producer here is an awesome open fermented, basket pressed, hand plunged Shiraz. Just what you have been awaiting to load into the cellar for the celebrations ahead. From one of the best vintages around from Barossa here we have stunning value of a smashing 14.7% Shiraz made by one of Australias most outstanding 5 Star Haliday rated wineries.
Dark purple, dense crimson in colour this ominous wine broods while it waits for you to unleash the beast within. Your senses are heightened with uplifting notes of black fruits, dark plums and chocolate with hints of blackberry and spice. Now for the test! The palate exudes black fruits, with dark chocolate and mocha notes. Excellent combination Oak treatment has provided fine tannins with good acid balance and persistent flavour all the way to the next sip. This is my pick of the week!
You may recognise the brilliant front label artwork of one of Australias most world renowned artists and this of course is just the begining of a surprise packet! Hand crafted wine from Australias best producers of Coonawarra Cabernet Sauvignon I was very interested to see what they would make of Barossa Shiraz and BOY! What a find. Warmer climate fruit sourcing has lead to medium bodied style with bright fruit flavours and terrific intensity, ripe berry fruits, complimented by oak characters. The wine balances between tannin, flavour and natural acidity with a long finish.
