Mitcham Estate wines are styled and blended for everyday drinking. Approachable, fruit driven and beautifully balanced, these award winning wines are perfect for passionate wine lovers to new wine consumers.
This wine exhibits a deep burgundy colour with a crimson hue. The bouquet shows a complex primary fruit display of plum, blueberries and blackcurrents that is integrated with subtle spices, mint, caraway seed and cedar wood. The palate has generous flavours of ripe dark plums, black cherries and rich dark chocolate. The integration of French oak is both subtle and cleverly balanced with natural acids to produce a wine of superb structure and retains elegance with a soft lingering finish.
This wine is ready to enjoy now but will continue to age gracefully until 2017. For best results, decant 30 minutes before drinking. Store wine at a constant temperature between 15-18 Degree Celsius.
Fruit for Mitch Estate wines is sourced from select premium growers in McLaren Vale where site selection, elevation, soil structure, canopy balance and crop load are of priority and taken into utmost consideration. Premium grapes are produced from 100% Bio-dynamically grown vines that are meticulously managed by expert viticulturists. By eliminating the use of herbicides and pesticides, the soil micro flora and fauna thrive in abundance which increases the natural flavour profile of the fruit. The fruit from Bio Dynamic vineyards form the backbone and underlying structure for these super premium wines. As a result the wines show incredibly complex and layered tannin structure, creating wines that will cellar for decades to come.
