2008 was a dry, warm year and the Merlot was harvested at full ripeness giving a soft medium to full bodied wine. The wine will improve with cellaring for several years.
The Darling Ranges are old ancient land forms which flank the Indian Ocean for several hundred kilometres. These hills are filled with small stone lined gullies. The small to medium sized granite stones sparkle from where they were exposed to the elements for thousands of years. The label has been named with this in mind.
Stone Gully is designed to appeal to the young wine consumer, with its assortment of fruity varieties. This label allows the young palate to develop with confidence while still drinking award winning wines.
