"This is the Clare Valley winery's newest range, meaning they now have five basic pricing levels for their wines. The fact this sits second from the bottom in terms of price is quite amazing. It's offering real value. There are mixed berries flavours - some blackberry and red currant - and then you find a line of dark chocolate flavours that add some layered complexity. Cellar if you like, but for me it's tailor-made for good day-to-day quaffing at a price you can afford. 3 Cheers." - Rick Allen, October 2010.
Wine Colour: At release, the wine is deep red with a slightly purple hue.
Wine Bouquet: At release, the wine has a lifted fresh fruit aromas of blackberry and plum. Secondary characters of dark chocolate, dried herbs and spice add complexity to the bouquet.
Wine Palate: At release, the wine has luscious red berry and cassis characters throughout the palate while subtle spice and dark chocolate characters add complexity. The mid-palate is soft and round with long elegant tannins and a velvety, persistent finish.
