Macedon Ridge Brut Rose 2008 |

Cool and drizzly weather prolonged the flowering and brought with it both culture and millerandage, which reduced the potential crop size. It continued cool up until the last 10 days in January. The vines behind their normal maturity, needed a spell of hot and dry weather to secure a decent vintage. The weather changed and there followed two months of hot dry weather. Where most of the state suffered with extreme conditions, our vegetation caught up and protected our fruit through verasionand into vintage. It is no exaggeration to say that those last weeks of dryness made our vintage. From the start, the fine quality of our wines was apparent, attractive positive aromas, quite fleshy pliable fruit and sound moderately firm structures. An initial elegance and softness made for rich mouth filling wines.
Fresh and crisp, early drinking wine that aims to present the unique regionalityof Macedon Ridge. Medium light pink 100% Pinot Noir, complex aged. Characters to complement the fine tannin structure. Moderate low/yields and cool growing conditions have produced a sparkling rose with outstanding variety intensity, which is tight and enduring.
Wine makers comment –“ready for another drink”.A bolder style of sparkling rose, offering some serious complexity and variable trademarks, bound together by a semi-dry and finely beaded creamy mouth-feel.
