Buller Black Dog Creek Shiraz 2009 |
| |
|
|
Black Dog Creek can be found in north eastern Victoria just south of the Buller family home. They have chosen the name Black Dog Creek for their range of premium table wines which are sourced from Victoria's King Valley.
The picturesque King Valley on the lower slopes of Victoria's Alps is recognised for producing wines of high quality and finesse. In terms of Australian winemaking history the King Valley is a relatively new region, although vines have been grown in the valley since early settlement. The elevation, climate and soils of the region contribute to the production of wines with a degree of elegance which is one of the characteristics of cool climate wines
This is a clean full bodied Shiraz with pronounced aromas of spiced mulberry and redcurrant. It has rich flavours of ripe raspberry, stewed cherry and scented white pepper. The soft rolling tannins help to accentuate the elderberry and sweet herb on the finish.
It is an ideal match for roast lamb, chorizo or pork based tapas, It's Made to be enjoyed without the need for extended cellaring
