Guigal Cote Rotie 2005 |
| |

|
Syrah 96%, Viognier 4%.
Dark ruby red in colour. Spices, red berries and delicate oak aromas. Round soft tannins. Aromas of raspberry, blackberry and vanilla. Balance between scarcely perceptible acidity and tannins which add ageing potential and softened by long ageing in oak.
95/100 - "Spectacular wine. Deep colour with mineral characters threading through the silky seamless palate. Mix of cedar and cherry with a sweet succulence showing wonderful integration and balance. It's mostly syrah with about 4 per cent viognier. A thoroughly gorgeous example of this famous wine." - Ray Jordan, The West Australian, 29 August 2009.
