Craggy Range Gimblett Gravel Vineyard Chardonnay 2009 |
| |
|
|
Hawkes Bay's diverse, yet temperate climate provides ideal conditions for our Chardonnay production.
The Kidnappers Vineyard, being cooler, lends itself to a more elegant style, where winemaking artefact is restricted to a subtle and fruit supporting level. Whereas the Gimblett Gravels vineyard, being warmer, produces structurally intense fruit, hence the classic techniques of Burgundy being employed to complement and enhance the natural fruit richness and complexity.
Very pale straw colour streaked with youthful green hues. A combination of lemon, nectarine, acacia flowers and flint provides a subtle yet complex aroma. Our tightest Gimblett Gravels Chardonnay yet. Medium weight, steely acidity and fresh fruit flavours.
It has great persistence which releases waves of high floral note complexity on the finish.
Food Match: Scallops, rich and creamy seafood dishes
