Oliver's Taranga Fiano 2011 |

"4/5 STARS. This Italian variety is showing increasing interest and Oliver's has been one of its champions with its latest release showing properly distinctive personality from start to finish. A fino-like aroma that the winemaker describes as "pine nuts and lemon rind" is bang on, but more happens on the palate with decent medium-bodied weight and texture filling the mouth. Captivating." - Tony Love, Herald Sun, August 2011."
The 2011 Fiano is finally here! A wet vintage provided some challenges in terms of disease, but the Fiano variety seems to be extremely resistant from mildews and botyritis. The fruit and the vines looked stunning, and we are excited to bring this 2011 Fiano to you. Fiano is a relatively new variety to Australia, and originates from the Campagna region of Italy. This is Oliver's 4th vintage of Fiano and they love working with it. A very interesting variety, being able to maintain acidity in the grapes, even in South Australian summers. This minimal intervention Fiano is made with indigenous yeasts, and has no added acid. The 2011 Fiano has been made without the use of oak.
