Rating 93 $19.50 Date Tasted Dec 09 " - James Halliday. Colour: pale straw. Nose: fragrant, pomme fruit blossom aromas Palate: intense granny smith apple & pear fruit flavours with finishing clean and crisp. The grapes for this wine I sourced from two different vineyards in the cooler, elevated Adelaide Hills at Lobethal and Echunga. Both vineyards are close planted with vertical shoot positioning(VSP) to maximise sunlight exposure. Grapes were hand picked in March and the juice separated from skins pronto, to avoid extraction of hard phenolics. The clean juice was cold fermented for 5 weeks then immediately filtered to avoid lees contact and bottled with NOVATWIST environmental friendly closure.
