OK, so tonight you require a white wine with aromatic strength, a great food contributor and a wine you will remember for the week to come. Well, here is that wine. Get some Scallops, touch of chilli, aromatic herbs and some fettucini and go to town to create a little slice of Itay at next to nothing.
You are greeted with a superb pale straw to light gold appearance, with a green tint that conveys some summer vivacity.
The nose is lifted with a delicate fusion of floral jasmine, mineral and citrus notes that typify the regional terroir that this area is understood to show at its best.
The palate is immediately fresh, vibrant and elegant with a continuance of these characters. lip smacking Light to medium bodied, the mouth is lively, with a zesty acidity. Balanced and textually complex, mineral granite, lime and white stone fruits combine from the front to back, finishing with a lingering fresh tang.
GALAFREY WINES remains a family-owned business and all wines are dry grown, nurtured and bottled on the estate. Established by Ian Tyrer (1946-2003) Galafrey is survived by mother and daughter team, Linda and Kim Tyrer, who maintain a hands-on role to ensure that the Galafrey philosophy is upheld. That is to produce small parcels of distinctive and consistently excellent wines and committed to producing fruit of the highest quality which we believe is the key to winemaking excellence.
