Chris Hill Reserve Adelaide Hills Sauvignon Blanc 2011 |

Zesty, crisp and dry, this wine captures the refreshingly cool conditions of the Adelaide Hills with an intense aromatic bouquet and flavours of green apple and citrus.
The appearance is brilliantly clear with a subtle pale straw colour and delicate lemon hues. The bouquet is fresh and lively with granny smith apples and freshly squeezed lime juice dominating. The tang of green apples follows onto the front palate with lychee and gooseberry fruit filling the middle. There is a burst of sherbet zing on the side of the tongue as the crisp acidity reveals a steely backbone that flows to a long dry finish with a bracing grapefruit citrus lift. This is a lovely wine for summer salads and fresh seafood dishes.
The Adelaide Hills region is highly regarded for producing premium cool climate Sauvignon Blanc and this wine was sourced from a single vineyard on the east facing slopes of the Llangibby Estate near the picturesque village of Littlehampton. The 2011 vintage was cooler and wetter than the previous 3 vintages allowing the fruit to ripen slowly developing lovely intense flavours whilst retaining the steely minerality of tingling acidity. This is a style to be enjoyed while the youthful, invigorating flavours are dominant.
