Maurice Hennessy, great grandson of Richard Hennessy - the founder of the house - sort to bring "modernity and rarity" together in a single bottle of his family's legendary brandy. Blending around a hundred old eaux-de-vie (brandies), sourced from the finest growing regions of Cognac, the result is carefully matured in cellars until the perfect co-habitation of spice, vanilla, cinnamon and matured fruits is apparent, at which point it becomes Hennessy XO - eXtra Old - "the first XO since 1870".
