Another standout wine from Bleasdale! Having been producing Malbec in Langhorne Creek since 1961, their multi-generational expertise is key when working with this tricky varietal.
In colour, this is dark purple, with a vivid blackberry, plum and violet bouquet. The palate is rich and doesn't hold back. Plum, clove spice and velvety tannins draw through to a long finish with the assistance of toasty oak notes.

95 Points, Special Value Wine - James Halliday, Australian Wine Companion "Destemmed, 20% whole berries, open-fermented, matured in French puncheons (12% new) for 12 months. Deep colour; malbec has flourished in Langhorne Creek for over 100 years, and outpointed Argentinean malbec at the Sydney International Wine Competition. This is a powerful wine with layered plum and blackberry fruits, the tannins firmer than is normal for Langhorne Creek. Will be long lived."
2014 Vintage: 95 Points - Campbell Mattinson, The Wine Front "The pick of Bleasdale’s Malbec is fermented in small batches before being matured in all-French oak. I thought this was a bit fast and loose at first but as it breathed its quality and indeed structure asserted itself mightily. This is a spiffy red wine. It tastes of leather, rusty iron, blackberry and high-cocoa chocolate, and it comes perfectly stitched with dry, dusty, fruit-shot tannin. It will mature grandly."

A long, rich, opulent palate complemented and underscored by toasty oak.
