Brooding deep red plum colour with purple tints. Nice attack of stewed plum aromas complemented by soft vanillin oak. Just what you want from this wine is surpassed on your first sip with a long, full palate with blackberry and bramble flavours complemented by earthy notes and soft, spicy oak. The wine was fermented on skins with a neutral yeast strain to retain maximum primary fruit characters. After primary fermentation the wine was soft pressed and under went malolactic fermentation. A portion of the blend was treated with mirco-oxygenation to provide a richer, darker colour and produce finner rounder tannins. It was then aged on American and French oak. YUM!
