“... If this is representative of Aussie primitivo, bring it on.” Jeni Port, Epicure, The Age, 19 August 2008.

"89 POINTS. Lively multifaceted spicy aroma and flavour; light- to medium-bodied, but has good thrust and attack to the flavour and mouthfeel." - James Halliday.
This is really lively and vibrant with a perfumed lift on the nose that oozes red berries. On the palate there is a poached rhubarb character typical of the variety, berries and a hint of violets all wrapped up in a juiciness that makes the wine extremely appealing. Add the layers of complexity and the velvety texture and you have a wine that is very more-ish! This was written soon after bottling. More succinctly I think the wine is summed up well by the last part of the back label, “... exhibits a nice balance of savoury and varietal fruit characteristics.”
