This lively Sparkling Chardonnay Pinot shows bright citrus aromas, with some yeasty complexity. This is a beautifully balanced fizz with a long clean finish.
Our Stone Dwellers range is selected to showcase the best varietal examples from the Strathbogie Ranges each vintage. The Plunkett and Fowles families have a deep appreciation for this granite-rich region. Our winery, vineyards and homes rest amidst the cool, dry and elevated stone. For decades we have worked hard developing extensive local knowledge: from pioneering fruit growing, to understanding the personality of individual vineyard blocks and by experimenting with creative winemaking. The fruits of our labour and experience are captured in our Stone Dwellers range.
In terms of the characteristics of the wines produced by the region, the Strathbogies are in many ways the sum of the surrounding wine regions. Like the Heathcote and Goulburn Valley regions to the west, they produce magnificent Shiraz, but with a note of cool climate refinement. The quality of Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and other white varietals are clearly in the league of the Upper Goulburn Valley and the Yarra Valley to the south of the ranges. Like the King Valley and Alpine Valley wine regions to the north-east, the Strathbogies are capable of producing superb cool-climate expressions of Italian varietals.
