Hugo Chardonnay 2008 |

Colour: Fresh lemon/pale straw. Bouquet: Tropical fruit scents with layerings of papaya, white peach and honeydew melon. Hints of fennel, nutmeg and butter are also apparent. Palate: A rush of green melon and subtle pineapple fruit with a zesty acid grip, leads to complex characters of bread dough and butterscotch from the maturation in new French oak and a percentage of material being put through malolactic fermentation. The palate will continue to develop in complexity over the next 3 – 5 years supporting an already distinctly creamy finish, while underpinning the very evident freshness that is now showing.
