If you like your wine sweeter, yet without straying into the dessert territory, then this is an excellent option. Made from a blend of Riesling and the French Crouchen variety, it is a blend of crisp and refreshing elements with an emphasis on fruit flavours. Bright straw in colour with a slight green tinge the aroma of exotic fruits and spiced peaches translates well onto the palate. Each mouthful if full bodied with the natural grape sweetness rounded out by a crisp finish.
The white grape variety, Crouchen originated in the western Pyrenees of France but, due to growing difficulties in the region, is no longer planted in any quantity. This wine is made from a blend of 57% Crouchen and 43% Riesling grapes. The fruit was harvested from mid February to late March 2014 at a range of baumé levels from 11.0° to 13.6°.
