Top 100 & Blue Gold SIWC, Top In Class Royal Hobart, Gold at Royal Easter Wine Awards, they go on and on! My Favourite Seafodd TV Chef is listing this in the UK and I think that is a great thing. As you would expect, delightful Pale straw. colour with a nose of lifted aromas of racy crushed herbs, currants, nettles, lime and minerals with underlying guava and passion fruit all of which are the hallmarks of the region. A dry crisp wine with typical Marlborough flavours of guava, currants, minerals, lime and passion fruit. Rich in mouth feel, the mouth-watering acidity leads to a long lingering finish. 01 February 2008- Geoff Kelly The top Mud House Wines sauvignon Lemon green to lemon, the richest colour of the Mud House sauvignons. Bouquet is superbly classical Marlborough sauvignon, white nectarine, red capsicum and black passionfruit with complexing notes of sweet basil and other aromatic herbs, honeysuckle florals, plus faint musky armpit notes at an acceptable level, all very attractive indeed. On palate there is a richness and satisfaction of flavour which makes one wonder, in the blind tasting, is there trace barrel-ferment / new oak there too. When subtle, it is impossible to tell, given the phenolics of ripe sauvignon. Flavour is long in mouth, tasting all free-run, and low in phenolics. Residual sugar is the usual ‘dry’ level for the variety. This is model modern Marlborough sauvignon, to cellar up to 10 years, if mature wines appeal. GK 02/08
