Here is a beauty that shows the real benefit of this awesome WA blend the blend the right way around. Opens the batting with a pale straw & slight green tinge offering a glimpse of intrigue. The bouquet is vibrant offering fresh, tropical fruit salad aromas with, guava, lemon/lime and delicate herbal characters in the background. You have a wine best described as wonderfully rounded & medium bodied, the palate displays spicy tropical characters, zesty citrus flavours with a wonderful purity of fruit. An easy drinking ‘classic’ wine style – it is gathering some bottle age now and all the better for it as the clean and fruit driven style now shows some complexity with the Semillon gathering age. Overall a crisp acidity and a refreshing dry finish will wonderfully complement seafood, Asian inspired wok tossed vegies and Thai style curries. The 2004 Vintage began mid-march – two weeks later than usual, after a cool spring and summer. This long cool ripening period made for excellent intensity and flavour development. The fruit was crushed, destemmed and chilled before pressing. The settled, clean juice was then fermented in stainless steel tanks to retain fresh varietal characteristics. The final components were then selected and assembled prior to a gentle fining, stabilisation and bottling under screw cap closure.
