Brilliant very pale straw colour with a light greenish tinge around the edges and watery hue. The nose offers up scents of lime, green apple and passionfruit as top notes followed by some citrus. The palate possesses flavours of lime and green apple followed by a touch of grassiness finishing dry with some mineral and dried herb infusions on the back palate. Aftertaste of dried herbs, lime, green apple and mineral.
Drink over the next 2-3 years.
From the Vineyard
This white Sancerre is made exclusively with Sauvignon Blanc grapes grown on the clay-limestone slopes of Bué. It is brilliant and pale gold in colour with subtle green highlights. The nose is intense, with good balance between freshness, fruit, vivacity and finesse that complement its minerality. Notes of citrus fruit and lime on the palate with a touch of mint.
Our family has been growing grapes for 6 generations in the Sancerre region, mainly within the famous commune of Bué, whose wines are known throughout the world.
My great grandfather, Irénée Salmon, and his sons established vineyards on Bué’s finest slopes. This legacy, passed on from father to son, encourages us to respect the terroir and growing methods in order to allow Nature to best express itself and lend our Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Noir grapes all of the natural flavours and aromas typical of their special terroir.
Today, we own 15 hectares of AOC Sancerre Blanc planted with Sauvignon Blanc grapes, 5 hectares of AOC Sancerre Rouge and Rosé planted with Pinot Noir, and 3.25 hectares of AOC Pouilly-Fumé planted with Sauvignon Blanc grapes in the commune of Pouilly-sur-Loire.
We put the very best of ourselves into the cultivation of these terroirs in our relentless quest for quality.
