Rosato is unlike any other wine that they make. Usually the grapes dictate what kind of wine they want to be for Mark Shannon, but with Rosato, he is in the drivers seat. The flavours and colours are already in mind when he goes out looking for the vineyards that fit that profile. The inspiration came from the ancient tradition of field blending Primitivo with Aleatico.
Pour a glass of this new vintage: there is a vibrant pink that caresses the eyes and a floral nose that delights the palate. This 75% / 25% blend of Primitivo and Aglianico offers great aromas of honeysuckle and carnation, with flavours of ripe cherries and strawberries. We are sure that you will enjoy this wine with the body and muscles of a red wine and the delicacy and perfume of a white wine.
From the Winery
A primitivo and an Aglianico vineyard were chosen for this year's A Mano Rosato. The Primitivo contributes that lovely blackberry character and the Aglianico has a light orange blossom aroma that gives complexity and interest to this delightful wine. Both were sandy hillside vineyards and the wine reflects their balance and composure.
