From fair Verona (the province not the city) we bring you this superb example of Italian Pinot Grigio. Pale gold in colour it nose is laden with a bouquet of lemon, freshly cut peach, pear and a layer of delicate florals - it smells like spring! The palate is long and lean, with crisp flavours of apple, citrus and white flower wrapped around a shimmering mineral core. The finish is controlled and tight with excellent balance making this the ideal partner to seafood or other more delicate dishes.
FROM THE WINERY: Sourced from a higher altitude appellation further cooled by evening breezes from nearby Lake Gard, La Vendetta Pinot Grigio is an elegant and refreshing expression of the variety.
A restrained nose of citrus, riverstone and stone fruit with floral hints courtesy of the Garganega. The palate is very pure and lightly textured with crisp flavours of apple, green pear and spice. The mineral acidity is fresh and bright before a clean, dry finish. A lighter style of Pinot Grigio best suited as an aperitif or with delicate seafood dishes.
WINEMAKING: Hand harvested in the early morning to retain natural acidity. Primarily whole bunched pressed, aiming to limit skin contact and preserve elegance. Fermented in stainless steel with temperature control before maturation on lees for six months to build texture and complexity. A portion of Garganega (typically used in Soave) is blended to add delicate floral aromatics.
