Umani Ronchi Villa Biachi is a crisp and vibrant dry white that utilises the exciting aromatic of the Verdicchio grape variety. The bouquet to this unique light white has citrus and floral notes and a palate that is similarly clean, with a some subtle nutty notes and a tingle of acid. Fine and intense aromas, fruity and floral. It tastes vibrant and fresh with a typical almond aftertaste and refreshing tingle. You could almost compare it to a young Aussie Semillon.
The Winery
The Bernetti’s own over 200 hectares of prime vineyards in the Marche (110 in Verdicchio Classico and 60 in Rosso Conero) and Abruzzo (30 in the prestigious ‘Colline Teramane’, the region’s first DOCG appellation). Leading Piedmontese Oenologist Beppe Caviola heads the oenological team, having received a healthy legacy from retired consultant and Italy’s greatest winemaker, Giacomo Tachis.
In the 2011 Gambero Rosso Guide, Umani Ronchi were awarded a double Tre Bicchiere for their Verdicchio Casal di Serra Vecchie Vigne 2008 and Cumaro 2007. Even more impressive, it’s the second double award in a row for Umani Ronchi.
Named after the farmhouse on the vineyard, Villa Bianchi comes from the heart of the production zone and best expresses Verdicchio’s freshness and elegance with notes of floral blossom, citrus, apple and almond, the palate finishing whistle-clean and dry.
