This extra dry prosecco from Vallate is just the thing for that lunch date. It's lower in alcohol, and is a highly sipable fruity, soft style that shows pretty aromas and flavours of apples, florals and lemons, all supported by a cheeky bubble, friendly acidity, and a smooth, gentle finish. A lovely alternative to the usual sparkling crowd.
From the Winery
Prosecco over the last decade has become Italy’s favourite sparkling wine that can accompany almost any occasion. This is largely due to its popularity in the chic bars of Venice. Indeed most Prosecco grapes are grown just north of Venice around the towns of Conegliano and Valdobbiadene, a part of Italy that is equally famous for the many villas built by Palladio in the 16th century. The grape, however, probably started life in the eponymous village of Prosecco on the Slovenian border in Friuli. Its natural, clean, fresh acidity means that it is ideal for sparkling wine. Frizzante means that there is less pressure in the bottle and thus that the wines are slightly less fizzy or sparkling.
