Bleasdale Frank Potts Cabernet Blend 2013

Bleasdale Frank Potts Cab Blend.gif

Lovely red berry and darker fruit aromas, notably blackcurrant, plum and lifted violets with a touch of black olives. These characters continue onto the palate supported by layers of nutmeg, cinnamon and spice oak flavours, with a hint of vanilla.

Balanced, finely structured and perfumed, this wine shows considerable length and structure & will benefit from cellaring for 10 to 20 years. Bottled without filtration, decanting 2 hour’s prior to consumption is recommended.

"Shares the bright, healthy colour of all the '13 Bleasdale releases; a full-blown Bordeaux blend of 62/18/11/6/3% cabernet sauvignon, malbec, petit verdot, cabernet franc and merlot duly delivers the goods with a beautifully balanced array of predominantly black fruits, but not to the exclusion of some juicy plum and red sparklets."

94 Points - Tyson Stelzer, Tysonstelzer.com
"Don’t think Langhorne Creek in the classic, full-bodied style. Instead, this is a wine of restraint, lift and tang more reminiscent of northern Margaret River than Langhorne Creek. It’s eminently varietal and long-lived, with classic cabernet focus of redcurrant, cedar, leaf and capsicum, graceful rose petal lift, and firm, finely structured tannins. A classy new label announces a new era for Frank Potts."

93+ Points - Campbell Mattinson, The Wine Front
"It’s firm and juicy and has good depth. It’s also well balanced; it’s hard to imagine anyone being displeased with this. Blackcurrant, fennel, bay leaves and an integrated run of spicy oak. Very fine tannin. Nicely done in all respects."

94 Points - James Halliday, Australian Wine Companion
"A complex, elegant 65/15/11/5/4% blend of cabernet sauvignon, malbec, petit verdot, merlot and cabernet franc that spent 12 months in French puncheons and hogsheads. Bright crimson-purple; has absorbed the oak while preserving the cassis fruits and softening the tannins; good length and balance."
