From Langhorne Creek in South Australia, this wine perfectly flaunts these attributes. With bold flavours of blackcurrant and freshly cut herbs, this wine puts on a real display of flavours. Perfect on a cold wintery night or at a BBQ with smoked meats, or even rich pork dumplings!
From The Winery
If colour tells a story, then this is one of depth and character. Appealing floral notes give nuance to the attractive red fruit so abundant on the nose. Blackcurrant leads an ensemble cast of spices and herbs that act as a perfect foil to this wine’s mesmerising display of fruit. Vinification: The fruit was crushed into 8 tonne open fermenters and left on skins to cold macerate for three days prior to fermentation. Fermentation occurred at or under 23°C with our Rhône isolate yeast. This helped to extract the skin tannin while maintaining aromatics. The wine underwent its malolactic transformation in oak, was then racked and returned to French and American oak for a 12-month maturation.
Reviews
"Easy-going, undemanding, and ultimately quite satisfying. This is a wine which does its job very well. It offers ripe berry aromas, a touch of spice, a hint of chocolate and warm earthiness on the bouquet. The palate is soft, although quite mouthfilling, with slightly sweet-toned fruit which has a definite regionality about it. Right on the money for its place in the market." 90 Points, Steven Creber - The Wine Companion
