Here at the Warehouse there’s a lot of love for Geoff Hardy. Consistently producing primo vino at prices that could be a hell of a lot more than they are – what tastes like a 60 dollar bottle and costs 30 bucks? The colouring is opaquely dark red, with a bouquet of violets, cassis, cedar and spice that comes across with a nice amount of intensity. The flavour sits in that nice middle ground between being medium and full bodied, with blackberries and mulberry balanced by a little bit of cedar and a well spiced background. The tannins are firm, and slightly dry but well balanced. The aftertaste is drawn out with a gradually mellowing of flavour between each sip.
Winemaking
This wine was matured for 20 months in a combination of 80% French and 20% American hogsheads of which 40% were new and 60% aged between 2-5 years. The combination gives a really unique palate feel of talk as well as that delicious grip Cabernet's can often lack. I could write delicious things about this wine all day, but instead I'm just going to finish my glass of it. You should do the same!

Past Vintages
2013: 92 Points - James Halliday, Australian Wine Companion "Matured for 20 months in 80% French barriques and 20% American hogsheads (40% new). Big in flavour, with luscious cassis fruit and oak upfront, backing off somewhat on the back-palate and finish."

2012: 95 Points - James Halliday, Australian Wine Companion "Bright hue of moderate depth; a classy example of the variety, trimming its cassis fruit with a touch of black olive/earthy austerity feeding into the fine-grained tannins running through the length of the palate. Will breeze through the years ahead."
