Concentrated aroma with notes of blackberries, blackcurrant & white pepper. The full bodied palate is rich with velvety tannins that bring length of dark berry & mocha flavours.
Deep red/purple. Very good colour. Fresh, bright, young, dark fruit aromas with distinct star anise and peppermint influences. Very aromatic, perfumed. Masses of sweet fruit in the mouth, deep and lush, jubey and almost opulent. Tannins are soft and ample, but are pushed into the background by the sheer depth of fruit. Great balance between fruit and structure here. Long term. Very good indeed.
Awards and Accolades
2014 Vintage: 90 Points - Campbell Mattinson, The Wine Front "There’s a slight disconnect between the fruit and the oak but for weight, texture and impact this has a lot going for it. It tastes of chocolate, asphalt, creamy vanilla and gum leaf, the latter thankfully not too overt, and it also has plenty of curranty kick to the finish. If you’re a regular buyer of this, there’s no reason to stop now; this still delivers. If you’re just simply looking for a hearty red done well, then this is a good option."
