Winemakers Notes "Many years of experience has taught me that great wines don’t just happen in the bottle. While they may soften with age and develop additional complexity, they have to be great from the moment they are made. This super-premium red was made from old, low yielding vines and highlights the richness and uniqueness of Coonawarra cabernet sauvignon. It is a vibrant, fruit driven style, with maturation in predominately older oak softening and filling out the palate."
Colour Deep red and maintaining a distinctly purple edge.
Nose Fresh fruit aromas highlighted by blueberries, cassis and spearmint, with just a touch of cabernet stalkiness. The oak adds a layer of mocha coffee.
Palate This is a soft, fleshy, plump wine showing distinctly varietal berry flavours on the front of the palate and spicy oak and silky tannins on the finish.
Ageing The juicy fruit flavours provide fantastic drinking right now, but the wine will cellar well for a couple of years and develop additional cedar and chocolate flavours
