A wonderful bouquet of rich dark berries. Perfect accompaniment of flavour for game meats, grilled steak or a rich steak & kidney pie.
Awards & Accolades
2012 Vintage: 95 Points - James Halliday, The Wine Companion "There's something charming about this wine with its leafy freshness amid the tangy cranberry and blackberry notes. It's quite sprightly, lively even, with grip to the tannins. Medium-bodied and refreshing"
2010 Vintage: Best In Show - Fed Square Wine Awards (Cabernet Class) 2012/13
From The Winery
The ripe, small-berried bunches were hand-picked from Rows 16-20 of Baxendale’s vineyard which was un-irrigated, 570 metres high in the Whitlands hills.
With dark ruby colour and a bouquet of ripe blackberry and dark fruits and some liquorice and eucalypt tones, the wine was matured in new (30%) and young French oak barriques for 22 months; these rich and warm flavours are enhanced by subtle oak characters and fine tannins.
