Step X Step might sound like some new gym class but we can report it’s a far more pleasurable than that. It’s actually a winery making superb, value for money wines using South Australian fruit.
This Cabernet Sauvignon is sourced mostly from the Limestone Coast, a cooler sub-region, South of Adelaide (encompassing Coonawarra, Wrattonbully, Mount Benson and Padthaway), with a dash from the Barossa Valley. Most of it has been aged in stainless steel, with about 10% spending 12 months in oak barrels to add some richness. This is a very elegant and well-defined Cabernet; the palate is luscious with a long velvety finish, showcasing blackberry & cassis blend with cigar box and chocolate. The touch of oak help concentrate a bit the tannins, but it stays a delicious and very-friendly wine.
