Rich and concentrated aromas of blackberry, eucalyptus and spice give to a full bodied palate of equal depth and complexity with an abundance of generous fruit flavours and hints of capsicum and tobacco.
Robust tannins will allow for a beautiful ageing process however perfectly suitable for drinking immediately, especially when paired with red meats as the flavour will cut through any fat.

James Halliday winery of the year 2016
2014 Vintage: 94 Points - James Halliday, Australian Wine Companion "Estate-grown, fermented in 150yo open wooden vats then matured for 18 months in French oak (20% new). Has the same fruit freshness as its Shiraz sibling, starting with the colour and finishing with bright acidity. Will be deceptively long lived, the modest alcohol a boon. Gold medal Queensland Wine Show '16"
The Winery
A winery steeped in tradition (with National Trust classification), which should be visited at least once by every wine-conscious Australian, and which makes wines particularly red wines utterly in keeping with that tradition. The essence of that heritage comes in the form of the tiny quantities of Shiraz made from vines planted in 1860. Serendipitous, perhaps, but the current release wines are absolutely outstanding. A founding member of Australia's First Families of Wine.
