There’s not much I can say about Taylors that you wouldn’t already know, they are after all, an institution in Australian Winemaking. This experience shows in pretty much everything they produced, not least of all this beaut cab sav. Aromas of blackcurrant, subtle spice and a touch of eucalypt at first with evidence of French oak maturation in subtle background notes of cedar and dark chocolate coming second. The flavour is intense, with distinctive blackcurrant and cassis flavours overlaid with tobacco, oak and spice. Tannins are finely developed and have a certain degree of elegance.
James Halliday, Australian Wine Companion: 92 (2013) A civilised, medium-bodied cabernet that has clear-cut varietal expression on both bouquet and palate; blackcurrant fruit has a skein of soft, ripe tannins that immerse themselves in the fruit. Has appeal for consumption sooner or later.
