Smooth, rich and fruity is the theme with this value red from Trentham Estate. There's plenty of cassis, dark berries and dark chocolate on the nose, along with a hint of star anise spice. This all translates to the fuller-bodied, sweetly-fruited palate that is supported by balanced acidity, gentle tannins, and a silky, fleshy fruited finish. No need to think too hard about it, this is one you can enjoy a glass of everyday.

2012: James Halliday, Australian Wine Companion "Good crimson-purple; almost as surprising as the Pinot Noir, but not as freakishly good; here there are some herbal nuances, even a touch of mint; the strength of the wine is its structure, based on good tannins."
From the Winery
The grapes were de-stemmed and pumped into the fermentation vessel. The fruit was fermented on skins for 7 days before pressing. After pressing, a portion of the wine was matured in French oak barrels. The wine was then blended and bottled in August 2015.
