I had this wine a while back at a very fancy restaurant, and have been a fan ever since (not to mention surprised by its friendly retail price). Dark purple in colour with a nose that bursts with black cherry, light florals and a slight toastiness it’s flavour is both immensely enjoyable, with cassis, blackberry and a touch of chocolate, yet beautifully simple, the tannins are smooth on the finish and theres a hint of sweet spice from a light oak ageing process. This is a case of the simplest things being the most enjoyable, and a bottle of this will keep you happy right up until it’s empty.
