The Argentines make full-bodied reds that go well with the nations obsession for Steak. This is the Reserve Malbec from Argento showing much more concentration of flavour and intensity of fruit. It’s dark and broody in colour with immense aromas of plums and black cherries. These are reflected on the palate as well, whilst 4 months in 50% / 50% American and French oak has developed complexity and added flavours of chocolate and vanilla. Supple tannins round it out nicely.
Awards and Accolades
Gary Walsh, Wine Front "Blackberry, plum, whiff of liquorice and cold milk coffee, touch of spice too. Medium bodied, a little jammy and unformed, but fresh and juicy all the same, with a sprinkle of dried herbs through the slightly salty red and black berried fruit. Has some grainy tannin, and the finish is good enough. You’d be happy enough belting down a few glasses on-premise, or even off-premise."
