Unsung Heroes Petit Verdot 2007 |
| |
More like the Junk Yard dog of the much loved and revered Australian Shiraz, this varietal is really taking hold in the market and for very good reason. This brand is about showing premium varietal strengths, normally these lesser known grapes are the supports adding richness, tannin and colour to Shiraz but here they sing wildly expressing themselves as stand alone conquerors of flavour. I think this Petit Verdot is spectacular, chewy robust mid palate length and spice with deep garnet colour from the first splash. Wonderful rich hearty fruit driven drink and well structured tannin levels that combine faultlessly to provide an award winning wine.
I don't care what you have heard or don't even know about this varietal, now is the time to either enjoy , exercise your adventurous side, or simply give up trying new styles because this is a winner on all fronts, and you are going to love it.
