De Bortoli Yarra Valley Estate Grown Pinot Noir 2016
De Bortoli follow up a run of exceptional vintages with another smashing Pinot release. The 2015 is a delightfully perfumed drop with great weight to the body.
Medium ruby and eye-catching in the glass. The nose is delicately perfumed, red fruit and a touch of spice. Medium weight on the palate with lots of red fruit, cherry, spice and herbs. Gentle tannins make for an elegant finish.
Awards and Accolades
2015 Vintage: 92 Points - Campbell Mattinson, Australian Wine Companion "All the parts of the puzzle are here but they’re still a little jumbled. The won’t remain so for long. It’s briary, peppery and sappy but it’s also silken, cherry-plummed and sinewy with tannin. I like everything I see; I just want to see/drink it again in another year or more."
2015 Vintage: 92 Points, Special Value Wine - James Halliday, Australian Wine Companion "From several parts of the vineyard with different aspects and soil types. There's a lot on offer here, bramble, spice and dark cherry all in play. Still a bit tight, but will loosen up well over the next few years, and go on from there."
