Gibbston Valley Pinot Noir 2008 |
| |

|
Colour is on the darker end of the Pinot spectrum, quite dense. An immediate perception depth is established on the nose - aromas of berry fruit and spice interact with dark brooding earthy and leathery tones. Complex and intriguing. Structurally muscular as a young wine, with impressive depth of flavour. Concentrated, yet silky, expansive front, with the mid palate having sure direction and focus. Finishes with well balanced tannins that lend a lingering savoury complexity.
Excellent colour is the trademark of this label, and it is no different in 2008. There is lovely fragrance of violets, plum, anise and cinnamon. On the palate, the wine is concentrated and dense, with youthful primary fruit balanced by a savoury twist of tannin. Well structured, with the intensity to give 6 years of cellaring
