A vibrant pinot noir from master wine-maker Rob Dolan out of the Yarra Valley. This is a Pinot that will cellar but who can wait when drinking so good now.
Lots of black cherries, plums, aniseed & spice brimming from the glass followed on the palate with savoury, truffle, velvety texture. Will easily cellar for another decade...if you can wait that long.
Awards and Accolades
2015 Vintage: 92 Points - James Halliday, Australian Wine Companion "Spicy/stalky/tangy characters run on silken rails. There's more style here than substance, perhaps, but there's enough to have you smacking your lips appreciatively. Firm, dry, autumnal finish is a highlight."
2015 Vintage: 92 Points - Mike Bennie, WBW 200 of the Best “Easy drinking Pinot Noir with plenty of pep and vigour.. a juicy, simple, great fun thing to drink.”
From the Winery
“Vintage 2016 will be long remembered as the most compact growing season in living memory. A warm spring was followed by a warmer than average Summer but luckily we were spared from suffering through too many extreme over-40 degree spikes during the ripening period. The effect of this weather forced an acceleration of ripening but also a retention of fresh acidity due to the cool nights. It’s not surprising then to see ripe, generous characters on the 2016 wines”. Mark Nikolich - Senior Winemaker
