Pinosity, no it’s not a dirty word. It’s the word that describes whether a Pinot Noir is varietal or not and we look for it in every Pinot we taste. That’s because we are pinot-philes (now that’s a dirty word). Central Otago is leading the charge from a Kiwi perspective and this one from Yealands Estate is rammed with pinosity. It’s bountiful in cherry with nice sappy and savoury notes and a succulent palate. It’s got mushroom risotto written all over it.

90 Points - Sam Kim, Wine Orbit "Beautifully fruited and fragrant, the inviting bouquet shows dark cherry, strawberry tart, mixed spice and toasted almond characters. The palate delivers lovely fruit richness and mid palate weight, enhanced by silky texture and supple tannins. Balanced and harmonious, and offers plenty of juicy fruit."
☆☆☆☆ - The Shout NZ "Quite a complex bouquet with a mix of stony soils, wild flowers and crisp light red fruits centering on red cherry and cranberry, medium oak with some light brown spice suggestions. On the palate – dry, firm and crisp with medium+ acidity and youthful fruit tannins. Finer tannins from the oak add length to the finish. Youthful, balanced and well made."
From the Winery
Brimming with lifted aromaticity, showing dark cherry fruit and savoury spice. The palate is supple yet juicy with ripe fruit, fresh acidity and a soft tannin finish.
Thinking differently is what we do at Yealands. Crafting award-winning wines in harmony with nature has seen us lead the world in sustainable winegrowing. But most importantly, it means great tasting wines which don’t cost the earth.
The Yealands Estate Land Made Series is sourced from New Zealand’s leading wine regions. The winemakers have chosen to allow the land to tell its own story, selecting parcels of grapes carefully nurtured from the vine to the bottle. These individual parcels are skillfully combined to produce intense and authentic wines, reflective of their distinctively unique origin.
