This first release of this easy going red blend was described as "one of the great wine bargains of the world" by Robert Parker. The 2012 vintage continues to offer more of the same great value.
Dark in colour with a vibrant purple hue, the Pillar Box Red offers aromas of maraschino cherry, liquorice, tobacco leaf and a faint note of mint. Layers of blackcurrant and dark fruit flavours dominate the palate, with toasty spice developing through the back palate. Get some in for your next BBQ!

From the Winery
Handcrafting wines from our family vineyards in Padthaway, South Australia, Henry’s Drive Vignerons is named in admiration of the 19th century mail coach service that once drove through our property.
In an age of instant gratification, the Pillar Box is a stoic reminder of the virtues of patience. The act of writing and sending a letter is matched by the anticipation of the receiver. Our best parcels of Shiraz were selected from the Pillar Box Red project to create this special wine.
Grown in red and black loam over limestone on our family vineyards in Padthaway. Harvested in early-mid March, this wine is fermented with 60% French and 40% American oak for 6-8 months in tank
