This blend of 90% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Franc pays homage to the renowned Right Bank region of Bordeaux. Aromatics of pepper and spice from Cabernet Franc complement the cassis and darker fruits of Merlot. Round and full on the palate with savoury fruit and fine-grained tannins.
Awards and Accolades
2013 Vintage: Special Value Wine, 95 Points - James Halliday, Wine Companion "An 85/10/5% blend of merlot, cabernet sauvignon and cabernet franc, destemmed, wild yeast open-fermented, matured in French oak (20% new). Good colour; it has a fragrant bouquet of forest berries, then a long, medium to full-bodied palate with cassis, cedary/spicy tannins and a lingering, textured finish."

Our Hill Road vineyard and winery is located at Coldstream, 40kms east of Melbourne in Victoria’s oldest grape growing region, the Yarra Valley. Grown on ancient, mountain derived sandy clay loams, these rocky soils combined with our thirty-year-old vines are at the heart of this wine. 2015 will be remembered for good winter rains, even flowering and fruit set with an exceptional harvest due to favourable conditions through summer and autumn.
