A refreshingly light blend of Italian favourites Sangiovese, Barbera and Marzemino, this easy drinking King Valley rose ticks all the boxes! A mix of strawberry and red berry aromas on the nose, the palate is relatively dry and vey refreshing. The finish is crisp with good acidity. As with previous vintages, this wine doesn't try to be fancy, it's a straightforward good drink.
Although ready to be enjoyed right away, this will drink well for the next 2-3 years. Pair it with stuffed peppers or tomato-based pasta dishes.
Awards and Accolades:
90 Points, Special Value Wine - James Halliday, Australian Wine Companion "A blend of sangiovese and tempranillo. Pale, bright crimson; a cherry blossom bouquet, then a super-crisp palate with red and sour cherries and cherry pips driving the long, dry and refreshing palate."
From the Winery
“Sangiovese and tempranillo grapes are harvested for our Rosato. The fruit is picked early to capture a critical blend of youthful flavours, crisp natural acidity, and low alcohol before being crushed and soaked cold on its skins until the juice has extracted enough colour before being pressed and settled. The clarified juice is then fermented cool in stainless steel to preserve fruit flavours before being fined, filtered, and bottled.” Warren Proft, winemaker
