Rose de Loire Reserve Vignerons AOC 2014

Rose de Loire Reserve Vignerons AOC.gif

This red blend Rose out of the Loire is a dry, light-bodied number, and shows strawberries, cranberries and a touch of crushed leaf on the nose. The palate is dry and easy going, with bold fruity flavours in the red berry spectrum, gentle tannins, and a smooth, soft finish that will have you reaching for another glass. Excellent with poached salmon, or even a piece of barbequed chicken.

From the Vineyard

The vineyards are located 300 kms south from Paris, on the schist and clay hillsides between Anjou, Saumur and Touraine Area. It is made from 5 grape varieties which gives to the Rosé de Loire this outstanding balance between fruity flavours and freshness. Like all the wines from this region, there became famous during the middle age from which the Lys Crown engraved on the bottle.

Blend consists of Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Grolleau, Gamay and Cot.

The rose is bled from fermenting vats and bottled in the spring to retain all its fresh aromas. Different from his brother, it is vinified as a Dry wine, with a maximum of 3 grams residual sugar.
