This wine is made with fruit from the Frankland River Region of Western Australia, which produces wine with great richness of flavour. Delivers spice, cherry and chocolate on the nose through to a rich palate of black and blueberry fruits supported by smooth velvety tannins. Aged in French oak for twelve months
Young guns in the Margaret River scene, Amelia Park actually source their fruit for the Shiraz from Frankland River in the Great Southern wine region. This allows them to produce a Shiraz that has all the fruit hallmarks of Shiraz with a fine structure made famous by region. Lusciously ripe along with an ethereal length.
The grapes where harvested during the cool of the night to ensure quality was maintained. A cool fermentation took place in static fermenters and gentle extraction of colour and flavour was achieved over a two week period. After primary ferment the wine was gently pressed off skins to a mix of new and older larger format French oak barrels. After 12 months maturation in barrel the wine was blended prior to bottling
Awards and Accolades
James Halliday 2016 - 95 Points "Matured for 12 months in French oak, it has a scented allspice and Cherry Ripe bouquet, moving smartly to blackcurrant, blackberry and licorice on the medium to full-bodied palate; it's fruit-driven, but there's still room for a wave from the oak, and a salute from the tannins."
Ray Jordan - 95 Points
